Description
From my #100daysnearstrethall series. . The piece was inspired during a walk down Birch Lane in Catmere End in Essex where the Hedge-Garlic (Jack-by-the-hedge) was coming into flower. The work is composed of collaged pieces of rusted, eco-dyed, painted and printed repurposed linen and denim with paper applique. The fabrics are beautifully worn and damaged by wear. The “Jack” plants are hand embroidered in reds, echoing the barns at Howe Hall Farm in nearby Littlebury Green.
The textile piece measures approximately 28 x 28 cm and is float mounted onto off-white coloured mountboard.
The frame is white painted wood box frame with glass and measures approx. 44 x 44 cm
