From my #100daysnearstrethall series. This piece was inspired by the corrugated iron barn at Strethall in North Essex and the woodland surrounding the farm. The work is a fabric collage of rusted, eco-dyed, painted and printed repurposed linen stitched onto a vintage linen tray cloth. The fabrics are painted and then hand stitched by way of exploring the surfaces and colours of the barn and the Hedge Garlic ( Jack-by-the hedge) growing in the lanes on the edge of the woodland.
The textile piece measures approximately 47 x 31 cm and is stretched onto a frame and is ready to hang on the wall.
